News

MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY)-In the midst of the pandemic, several factory companies in Mexicali resume operations.

The President of the Chamber of the Maquiladora Industry (INDEX) Victor Hugo Delgado, says essential workers continue to work but with 30 percent of its workforce.

He guarantees that the companies that have resume operations implemented security and hygiene control measures in order to avoid contagion inside the work centers.

However, Delgado says the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic has been analyzed. INDEX has 122 affiliated companies that are responsible for 67,000 workers.

In Mexicali over 80 percent of the factory industry is foreign.
