Wonik QnC to start building new factory in Taiwan in 2Q22

South Korea-based semiconductor and display component supplier Wonik QnC is raising its investment in a new factory in Taiwan from KRW17 billion (US$13.43 million) to KRW30 billion, according to South Korean-language media The Elec.

QnC’s construction plan of a new production facility in Taiwan has been delayed by rising labor costs, but the company has now decided to expand the investment. The company produces quartzware used in wafer-processing.

QnC currently runs production in South Korea, the US, Taiwan, and Germany.

Demand for quartzware rises as demand for semiconductor grows. QnC has been expanding production capacity in South Korea and other countries.

Wonik Quartz Taiwan reportedly is a supplier of TSMC and UMC.
