UBT CEO Mohanad A. Dahlan said “UBT identifies Supply Chain and Logistics as a grand industry in the future of Saudi Arabia. Leading the education in this field, UBT introduced the first undergraduate program in Supply Chain Management several years ago, and recently launched its Master of Science (MSc) program in Supply Chain Management to further equip professionals with skills, tactics and advanced theories of the industry.
Furthermore, the partnership with the world-class CSCMP is motivated by the huge demand of skilled executives and practitioners at all management levels in the fields of Supply Chain and Logistics in Saudi Arabia. Over SR130 billion will be invested in this sector in the coming years, and some 10,000 jobs will be created in the Western region alone after the announcement of the biggest logistics zone in the country in Jeddah, expanding over 2.3 million square meters and set to serve as another world hub. UBT therefore plans to partner with the corporates to provide professional training programs to their workforce and align them to tomorrow’s market needs of the supply chain and logistics industry.”
“CSCMP is the preeminent worldwide professional association dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of research and knowledge on supply chain management. We connect, educate and develop the world’s supply chain professionals. We do this by providing the most relevant and meaningful information, and connections, to our members worldwide. Our SCPro certifications are exemplary in our discipline today. This partnership with UBT
enables us to be the exclusive provider of supply chain and logistics education to more professionals in the expanding Saudi Arabian market for logistics and supply chain talent,” added CSCMP President and CEO Rick Blasgen. — SG
