FANWOOD, NJ — Shovlin Mattress Factory, a Westfield-family owned business in Fanwood, recently donated $1,500 to Play for P.I.N.K to help fight breast cancer.
This was the third year in a row that the small business has donated five percent of sales of its high-end Nirvana mattresses from the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) to the local event, which raises money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Kara and Ron Shovlin, owners of Shovlin Mattress Factory, presented the check recently to Beth Hornstein, one of the local Play for P.I.N.K. event’s organizers.
“We just want to contribute to the momentum that we hope is moving towards a cure,” said Kara Shovlin. “Beth and Play for Pink is a terrific local connection that helps us do that.”
