Podcast | Managing Vendor Compliance With Health and Safety Rules | 2021-01-20

If you’re a business that’s outsourcing services, don’t think for one moment that you’re shedding responsibility for the health and safety of a vendor’s staff when they show up on your premises.

It’s routine nowadays for companies and their supply chains to pass off the performance of certain services to outsourced providers. But they remain responsible for vetting contractors’ compliance with health and safety rules. As they navigate the coronavirus pandemic, companies must assert tight control over those independent parties. (As well as, it goes without saying, their own staff.) What’s more, in the era of COVID-19, the definition of what constitutes a health or safety risk has been greatly expanded. Yet a recent survey found that fewer than half of supply-chain organizations prior to the pandemic lacked a formal program for vendor safety. Are they coming around to that need now? On this episode, we delve into the complexities and risk of worksite safety, with Colby Lane, Chief Executive Officer of Veriforce. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.

Show notes:

A Veriforce white paper on managing vendor risk.
