A manufacturer of plumbing fixtures and furniture for major brands will establish a new headquarters in Georgia, state officials announced.
Spring Mountain Center is expected to invest $45 million in its forthcoming factory and distribution center in Winder, Georgia. The project is expected to create 205 new jobs.
Spring Mountain Center, an affiliate of a company in China, says it is a core global manufacturer of products for “many top U.S. brands,” including Wisconsin plumbing products maker Kohler. The company’s products are sold at major retailers, including The Home Depot and Wayfair. Georgia officials added that the state is also home to kitchen and bath fixture company — and Spring Mountain Center customer — Hansgrohe.
CEO Jie Xiang said in the announcement that the company hopes the new facility will bring Spring Mountain Center closer to its customers and establish a stronger domestic supply chain.
“With a diverse client base across North America, including our friends at Hansgrohe in Alpharetta, Spring Mountain Center will be able to utilize our extensive logistics network to better serve their customers,” Pat Wilson, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, said in the statement.
The company could receive up to $1.28 million in state income tax credits based on its hiring for the new facility. It is also eligible for sales tax incentives on machinery purchases and workplace training assistance, and it will receive a property tax abatement from Barrow County, the Associated Press reports.
