The verdict was handed down after less than 15 minutes of deliberation, capping the one-day trial.

Singleton will be sentenced on Feb. 13 by Judge Timothy S. Marcel.

The case against Singleton was prosecuted by John M. Chaisson.

“I would like to recognize the St. Charles Parish Sheriffs Office and the Drug Enforcement Agency for their collaboration on this case,” said District Attorney Joel T. Chaisson II. “That collaboration, along with the hard work and persistence of my prosecutor, made this verdict possible and thereby removed another drug dealer from the streets of St. Charles Parish.”
