Just when you thought your Christmas dinner couldn’t get any better.
Tipton-based Mad O’Rourkes Pie Factory has taken it one step further – by putting everyone’s favourite festive feast inside a pastry case.
Described as Christmas Day in a pie, the Santa Pie contains all the best bits of your turkey dinner with all the trimmings, topped with a Yorkshire pudding filled with even more festive favourites.
The Santa Pie will launch next month as part of their festive restaurant menu and – new to this year – it’ll be available online through their Pies by Post home delivery service.
It is part of the factory’s limited edition Christmas range, which also features the turkey, veg and gravy filled Mrs Claus Pie and a festive take on their popular Desperate Dan beef pie.
Mad O’Rourkes Pie Factory owner, Peter Towler, said: “We have been making our Santa pies for the last 30 years and they are always really popular.
“It is something different to your normal Christmas dinner and even better now that our customers outside of the Midlands can enjoy them too through Pies by Post.
“We will be delivering right up to Christmas, so we would urge people to get in there fast to make sure they don’t miss out.”
BrumWish 2021 aims to get thousands of Christmas gifts to young children in need across our city – the homeless, the vulnerable, kids in care and kids who have little.
This year’s appeal is bigger and better than ever – because we have teamed up with our partners at #Toys4Birmingham, including Thrive Together Birmingham, the Birmingham Playcare Network, the Edgbaston Foundation and Birmingham Forward Steps.
Also involved are Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Barnardo’s, Spurgeon’s children’s charity, the Springfield project in Sparkhill, St Paul’s Community Development Trust and Your Local Pantry, which runs food hubs in 12 locations across Birmingham and the Black Country.
You can buy a gift from the #Brumwish Amazon Wishlist here.
Or you can collect and drop off donations of new and nearly new toys and gifts to special donation days at Edgbaston Stadium, B5 7QU, on Saturday November 27, Friday December 3 and Saturday December 4, from 11am to 3pm, where volunteers will be waiting to see you.
Brand new or nearly new, unwrapped gifts, books and toys for all ages will be accepted.
You can also donate cash, which will go into a fund held by a charity partner to use to plug gaps or buy specialist toys for children with additional needs. This is the link to make a donation.
The Santa Pie will be available to order in the restaurant from December 1.
Pre-orders will be taken from Thursday, November 25, on their website for home delivery from December 1 onwards.
Last orders for home delivery must be made by December 20 for delivery before Christmas.
Mad O’Rourkes Pie Factory is located on the corner of Hurst Lane and Sedgley Road West in Tipton.
