Letter: The demise of humanity

The demise of us all will be determined by climate change enough food and water for over-population, destruction of nature’s habitat, inequitable distribution of finite natural resources, religious and political fundamentalism, ignorance, intransigence, intolerance and insolvency. All other problems decline and define from these nine.

Yet many politicians nibble at the edges, quibble about potentialities, promote self-serving agendas, point fingers, tap dance to the latest conspiracy theory. We can’t afford stupidity any longer. Please politicians, find common ground for the common good. For example, if you haven’t noticed, natural disasters in this country treat Republicans and Democrats equally. Another example, when a mass murderer is on a roof top, do you think he cares who is a Democrat or Republican when he takes aim? I would ask our citizens, politicians and courts to do some serious soul searching and look beyond the ends of their noses.
