Indranee Rajah on emergency procurement by Government agencies amid COVID-19 pandemic

Proper evaluations are done and necessary approvals sought by Government agencies for emergency procurement practices. This approach, which waives tenders, was instituted in light of the COVID-19 pandemic to allow quick and direct contract between Government agencies and suppliers. Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah said this in reply to Parliamentary questions on Friday (Jun 5). She said Government agencies are still expected to assess that the quotes from the suppliers are reasonable, by comparing against prevailing market benchmarks.
