Fire destroys outbuilding at Honey Brook ag equipment factory | Berks and Beyond

Fire tore through an outbuilding Sunday at a Chester County agricultural equipment factory.

Crews responded at 1:21 p.m. to the fire at Stoltzfus Manufacturing in the 500 block of White School Road in Honey Brook Township.

According to Steven Kern, deputy fire chief of the Honey Brook Fire Company:

A tanker shuttle from a creek on Maple Street just outside of Honey Brook was used to supply water for the firefighters. 

Loss of the building and its contents was estimated at $350,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County fire marshal’s office.

No injuries were reported.

Stoltzfus builds customized equipment for the agricultural industry, including bale feeders, hay and other wagons, bale elevators, and grapple buckets.

Honey Brook Fire Company was assisted by the Twin Valley Fire Department, Caernarvon Fire Company, Weaverland Valley Fire Department, Glen Moore Fire Company, East Brandywine Fire Company, Elverson-Honey Brook EMS, Gordonville EMS and Chester County Haz-mat 15.
