DOYLESTOWN, PA —Come Saturday, there will be a new place in town to get your doughnut fix.
Factory Donuts, a popular made-to-order donut shop, will open its Doylestown store on Saturday, Nov. 23. Doors will open at 7 a.m. in the Cross Keys Place Shopping Center, 4367 Swamp Road.
We caught up with franchise owner Joseph Cremen, who said he’s excited about the new endeavor. Cremen, who is also a police officer, will be operating the shop with his wife, Mara.
The couple, from Northeast Philly, said they have a lot of friends in the Doylestown area and loved the camaraderie among local business owners. “It was a no brainer,” Cremen said.
The couple had been looking to open a franchise restaurant. They both worked at McDonald’s restaurants in high school. That’s where they met. Cremen worked his way up to manager, but then left the industry to become a police officer.
Fast forward several years: the couple began considering various franchises so they could open their own business in the food industry.
Once they met the CEO of Factory Donuts, they made up their mind. “He was very passionate,” Cremen said, noting he saw good growth potential in the company.
“They are very big with supporting the community,” Cremen said. He said Factory Donuts is not your typical chain store. “We’ll be out in the community doing different events.”
The Doylestown shop will be the fourth Factory Donuts, and the chain’s third franchise. “It’s only up from here,” Cremen said.
There is one other Factory Donuts location in Bucks County. A store is located in the village of Newtown Shopping Center.
Saturday will be a soft opening to allow employees to get used to the pace of the operation. Sometime around Christmas, a grand opening celebration will be held, Cremen said.

Tuesday: 6:30 – 6
