Expeditors is continuing to recover its operations after a cyber attack and expects “that system resumption will continue this week and into the next few weeks ahead”.
The company, which first reported that it had suffered a cyber attack on February 20, anticipates that its enterprise brokerage system will begin to come online this week, allowing its employees to support its clients using this system.
“We are working to bring additional enterprise systems online and continue to operate on backup systems. EDI/API connectivity, transportation, accounting, and systems adjacent to brokerage, such as distribution, order management, and other related solutions, will be the next to come back online,” said the freight forwarder.
Expeditors continues to work with law enforcement and private security organisations on cyber security.
The forwarder is not the only company in airfreight to have suffered an attack in recent months.
In February, ground handler Swissport battled an attack.
And in December, forwarder Hellmann’s operations were also affected by a breach.
