ATLANTA (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior says it has suspended the distribution of passports for an indefinite period of time due to technical problems.
On its Twitter handle, the ministry’s passport department made the announcement on Saturday.
The General Department of Passport is considering bringing positive changes toits technical and equipment sections in order to provide better and standard services to clients.
Because of four to five thousand passports distributed at the centre, machines lost their original quality over time and needed to be repaired or replaced, the tweet added.
The department explained it took time to handle the matter and the distribution of passports had, therefore, been suspended.
The Passport Department informedcitizens the distribution of passports would be on hold from the 8th of thecurrent month until the technical problems were resolved.
It went on to ask applicants not to visit the main Passport Department until further notice.
