Crop procurement centres to remain open till June 8: KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday announced that the Crops Procurement Centres will continue to function till June 8. Initially, the State government planned to operate these Centres till May 31. But due to requests from several regions, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to continue these Centres till June 8. He urged the farmers to transport their produce to these Centres and complete sale before the commencement of the Monsoon season.

The State government procured 57.22 lakh tonnes of paddy worth Rs 10,490 crore through 6,390 procurement centres. Similarly, another 7.39 lakh tonnes of maize worth Rs 1,389 crore was procured through 1,097 centres.
