City’s water distribution team restores service – Times-Herald

On the evening of Dec. 11, the city of Vallejo’s water distribution repair crews began tackling a major water main break located along the 500 block of Old Glen Cove Road (behind Starfish Drive), according to the city of Vallejo.

Approximately 110 single-family homes in addition to the Glen Cove Landing condominium complex were impacted.

Due to the location of the break in the 12″ water main, and the high number of valve clusters involved, some customers’ water service was interrupted and others experienced low water pressure for approximately three hours while crews worked to isolate the break and re-route the water around it.

Water service was restored at approximately 9 p.m. that same evening, however final repairs continued over the following week as city of Vallejo Water Department crews were required to coordinate their efforts with PG&E’s schedule.

The water distribution team expects no further service impacts and has scheduled the repaired pipe to be brought back into use the week of Dec. 30.
