The first Cheesecake Factory opened in Beverly Hills in 1978. The landmark location still is open on North Beverly Drive. Today, the chain has more than 200 locations nationwide and more than 250 menu items, including more than 30 different cheesecakes.
We visited the original location to check out the menu and started off with a peach bellini and dirty martini. Both were delicious. We also sampled appetizers including avocado eggrolls with sun dried tomatoes, red onion and cilantro with a tamarind cashew dipping sauce and stuffed mushrooms with cheese, garlic and herbs in a red wine sauce. Our main courses included chicken piccata with a creamy lemon sauce, mushroom and capers over angel hair pasta and the chicken and chicken madeira, their most popular chicken dish, topped with fresh asparagus and mozzarella and served over mashed potatoes. The portions were huge and we had lots of leftovers.
The Cheesecake Factory has locations in Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks, The Grove, Americana at Brand, Santa Monica Place Mall, Topanga Mall, Pasadena, Marina del Rey and beyond.
