Burned body found on pallet near freeway connector in Long Beach – Press Telegram

A body was found burned on top of a pallet on a transition road between the 91 and 710 Freeways in Long Beach Saturday morning, Jan. 8, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers received a call of a pallet fire just after 1:45 a.m. and found the body on a road that connects the eastbound 91 Freeway to the northbound 710, CHP spokesman Officer Peter Nicholson said.

The road goes underneath the 91 Freeway, where the body was found, as it turns northbound to merge with the 710 Freeway, Nicholson said.

No identifying information was available.

A Long Beach arson investigator was requested just past 6:30 a.m., followed by a request for the coroner at 6:48 a.m., according to a CHP log.

No other information was immediately available.
