5 dead after inhaling toxic gas at a factory in NE China’s Jilin

Five people were killed after inhaling toxic gas at a chemical fiber company in northeast China’s Jilin Province on Saturday night, according to local officials.

A power failure caused by a short circuit occurred at 21:30 at the factory, causing some exhaust equipment to halt operation.

Eight other workers at the factory were hospitalized and in stable condition, officials said.
