Ludhiana, August 26
The Moti Nagar police have arrested two persons on the charge of raping a 20-year-old girl at a Chetak factory in Sherpur Kalan.
Those arrested have been identified as Sanjay Singh and Kunwar Bahadur, both residents of Sherpur Kalan.
The complainant, father of the victim, told the police that his daughter was working at a factory in Sherpur Kalan . On August 24, his daughter had gone to the factory and when she returned home in the evening, she was looking depressed. When the victim was asked about the cause of her depression, she said two of his colleagues had raped her inside the factory. The girl also alleged that the suspects had threatened her not to reveal anything to her family.
The victim’s father said his daughter’s health deteriorated yesterday due to which she was admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. The investigation officer, sub-inspector Simranjit Kaur, said a case of gang rape under Section 376 (D), IPC, was registered against the suspects and they were arrested. — TNS
