Zip, Ironclad Integrate Procurement Platforms

Intake-to-procure solution provider Zip and digital contracting platform Ironclad have partnered to provide a unified, end-to-end solution to their joint customers.

With the new two-way integration, employees can initiate spend requests through Zip. It then routes the requests and contracts to Ironclad, and Ironclad performs a legal review and approval. Upon completion, Ironclad sends approvals and completed contracts to Zip to finalize the workflow, according to a Monday (Sept. 12) press release.

“The bridge between spend approvals and legal review has historically been disjointed — lacking proper collaboration, communication and visibility into where approvals are at any given moment,” said Ironclad Senior Vice President of Product Steven Yan. “This new integration allows Zip and Ironclad users to collaborate seamlessly and provide invaluable insights throughout the process.”

Among the insights that are provided are those that come from unique data collected during both Zip’s procurement process and Ironclad’s contracting process. Beyond that, the integrated solution reduces workflow complexity and the number of touch points required, according to the release.

“Businesses today are bogged down by the endless ping pong of spend requests, approvals, contract redlines and signatures — all of which are tedious and consume bandwidth,” Zip co-founder and CEO Rujul Zaparde said. “Our partnership with Ironclad combines two best-of-breed solutions to streamline processes and reduce friction for our joint customers.”

PYMNTS has reported that about 40% of procurement duties can be automated, with that automation eliminating hands-on work while also efficiently passing information back and forth, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

“Spend management is all about automating all the workflows around spending — not just the accounting workflows, but also the pre-accounting and post-accounting, where you want reporting of it,” Airbase Director Corporate Brand Darcie Lamond told PYMNTS in an April interview.
