Young worker electrocuted in Hattar factory – Newspaper

HARIPUR: A young worker was electrocuted at a steel manufacturing unit in Hattar Industrial Estate here on Saturday.

The family accused the factory administration of taking no safety measures to prevent deaths of workers.

Hattar police quoted Murbat Khan, a resident of Mohallah Railway Station, as saying that his son, Mohammad Jan, 19, had been working in the steel mills for last five years.

On Saturday morning, he said the victim was busy cleaning the furnace oil kiln of the factory with an iron rod, when he was electrocuted as electricity supply was not suspended at that time.

The victim died while being shifted to the Wah Cantonment Hospital.

The autopsy of the body was conducted at a rural health centre in Konajibullah before it was handed it over to the family, police said.

However, they said the victim’s father did not wish to file an FIR.
