WOLCOTT — Police arrested two women found in a motel room with a large amount of fentanyl on Thursday evening.

At 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a call from a bail enforcement agent who was trying to take a man, who was possibly armed, into custody at the AmeriVu Inn & Suites, 1273 Wolcott Road.

The bail agent was knocking on the motel room door when police arrived. Officers waited outside as an occupant opened the door, police said.

Although the suspect wasn’t there, police said the bail agent told officers he thought he saw drugs in the room. Officer Brendan McCormack saw drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight, police said.

Police found 410 bags containing a mix of cocaine and fentanyl, along with nearly an ounce of the powdery mixture in three bags and packaging materials.

Police arrested the two women in the room, 24-year-old AJahne Miller of Hartford and 28-year-old Kiana Maldonado of Bristol.

Miller and Maldonado were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were held on $100,000 bonds.
