In Brussels, the wind industry has urged EU governments to “allow essential manufacturing processes to continue” to prevent its supply chains “grind[ing] to a halt”.
The industry warns that without the continuation of “essential manufacturing processes”, the bloc risks stifling the supply of clean electricity in the short term and missing its climate goals in the long term.
“It’s about 15% of Europe’s electricity – and the European Commission see it being 50% by 2050,” said Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, in a statement.
