Wheat procurement date extended

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed that the date of procurement of wheat in the state should be extended till May 31. Chief Minister Chouhan was taking a review meeting of wheat procurement at his residence office. Senior officers of Agriculture, Cooperatives, Mandi board and Food Department were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that farmers should not face any problem during the purchase of wheat on support price. Every grain of wheat of farmers should be purchased at support price. Chief Minister Chouhan said that by extending the date of procurement of wheat, farmers would get more opportunity to sell their wheat. Those farmers who have not been able to sell wheat, they can sell wheat within the stipulated extended date.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that along with natural farming, soyabean and pulses cultivation should be promoted more in the state.

 

It was informed in the meeting that so far 41 lakh 57 thousand metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased in the state.
