WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — Employees were evacuated from multiple warehouses, and traffic was diverted as authorities investigate a bomb threat, police said.
No explosive devices were found in the building, which was released back into the control of management just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department said that the bomb threat was made about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to the human resources department of the GNC Distribution Warehouse at 5215 Albert S. White Drive.
The warehouse is east of the State Road 267 exit for I-65. Many warehouses surround that interstate interchange.
Emergency personnel helped evacuate employees from the facility for GNC, a retailer of health and nutrition products, as well as other nearby warehouses. The warehouses remained evacuated at 5 p.m. Wednesday and traffic was being diverted from the area as local agencies awaited an Indiana State Police ordinance disposal unit to sweep the GNC warehouse, Whitestown police said.
