Volunteers, Marines busy sorting donations for Toys for Tots distribution

BOISE, Idaho — The Marines currently have a warehouse at Gowen Field in Boise stocked full of stuffed animals, dolls, toys and games for Treasure Valley families in need.

Volunteers are busy this week sorting items by their intended age group, and hand selecting gifts for specific children.

Each child receives a toy, a stocking stuffer, and a book, and kids under five also get a stuffed animal. Each family will also be gifted a pice of sports equipment, game, or puzzle.

Donations will still be collected at Treasure Valley Albertsons stores and other businesses through Wednesday, December 11.

Leaders say their greatest need right now is for toys intended for boys and girls 10 to 12, and books for kids of all ages.
