Vinexpo New York counts down to 2021 show

Trade show Vinexpo New York is counting down to its next two-day event in February 2021 by issuing testimonials from exhibitors.

The trade show, which is scheduled for 3-4 February 2021, said that 83% of buyers at last year’s show found new products and companies at the 2020 event.

2020’s show, which was one of the last trade events before lockdown, featured buyers from over 40 US states as well as Canada and Mexico.

Among the most popular sectors of the industry attending last year’s event were those from on-premise sales (17%). This was followed by attendees working for importers (15%), distributors (13%), off-premise (13%), and wholesalers (8%).

95% of those that attended in 2020 hope to return next year.

Laura Andrew, project manager for Business France, wines, spirits, beers and ciders, said: “Vinexpo New York is the only wine and spirits trade show in North America. This fair is then a key event and a great opportunity for the French wines and spirits companies to meet the US and Canadian professionals. The French Pavilion, representing 20% of the show’s exhibitors in 2020, reflects the ambition and the determination of French wines and spirits makers from all over France to showcase and promote their wines in this area.”

Alberto Bicca, coordinator of the agrobusiness division at Apex-Brasil, added: “Vinexpo New York is the most important trade show to promote the Brazilian wine in the North American market. Brazilian sparkling wine has gained widespread international attention in recent years and companies are focused on building brand awareness by positioning their products in the American market through Vinexpo New York. At the last edition, many business opportunities were presented and we are confident the best is yet to come in the 2021 edition.”

While 89% of those that attended in 2020 were directly involved in the purchase of wine, 57% were also involved in spirits purchasing.
