ITHACA, N.Y. — In response to a shortage of medical masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, an assortment of Cayuga Health staff members and community volunteers quickly put together a makeshift factory in Cornell University’s Bartels Hall gymnasium. As need for PPE grew, and with no shortage of helping hands, the project quickly took off.
