Trio of warehouses wins Torrance Planning Commission approval on former Costco site – Daily Breeze

The Torrance Planning Commission recently approved a proposal to build three large warehouses of the site of a former Costco store.

No members of the public spoke at the meeting, said Oscar Martinez, planning and environmental manager.

“The project will be forwarded to the City Council,” he said, “as the zone change and general plan amendment need to be approved by them.”

No hearing date has yet been set, Martinez said.

Bridge Development Partners, the El Segundo company that recently acquired the 14.5-acre former Costco site for $41.3 million, submitted the proposal to the city.

The company intends to raze the 148,000-square-foot structure and replace it with a trio of warehouses. The total size of the warehouses will be 293,000-square-feet.
