After months of negotiations with the Bentley Company and confusion over how a master developer collaboration would work, the town will be issuing a new Request for Proposals for a master developer for the Tremont Nail Factory.
Select Board Member Peter Teitelbaum said at the boards’ Jan. 25 meeting that negotiations had fallen through in part because of disagreement over leases.
The new RFP, Teitelbaum said, lays out the terms of the collaboration more clearly.
The town is hoping to find a private company to lead renovations and development of the old factory site, which was purchased by the town in 2004.
