Topps Celebration of the Decades Freebies Included Limited Boxes, Factory Sets, Autographs

Collectors who pulled one of the “Celebration of the Decade” tickets inside packs of 2020 Topps Series 1 or 2 Baseball got lucky twice.  Not only did they receive an invitation to a Topps gathering in Las Vegas featuring some baseball stars, they also became the only recipients of some exclusive products and cards.

Topps announced the promotion when it began promoting Series 1 back in the summer of 2019.  Each ticket holder and a guest who could find a way to get to the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa in Henderson, Nevada received a room and a ticket to the gathering that included appearances by Hall of Famers Wade Boggs and Frank Thomas and Houston Astros star Yordan Alvarez.

Attendees received a pile of free gifts from Topps.  One was a specially created and labeled 2020 Topps Factory set limited to 100, a Hobby box of Celebration of the Decades-branded Topps Chrome cards that is believed to the most limited Chrome product ever released and a plastic box with another exclusive set inside along with an autographed card.

Guests also received a triple autograph card featuring the autographs of the three big leaguers that was exclusive to the event.

A small number of items given to ticketholders last week have made their way to eBay.

Guests had a chance to sample several different ballpark foods from around the major leagues, compete for more prizes in a trivia contest and take a tour of the Raiders’ new stadium.
