FEROZEPUR: To ensure procurement and lifting of wheat during the wheat season, SDM Ferozepur Om Prakash visited the mandis of Market Committee Mamdot and also checked the weights.
Lifting was being done at village Tibbi Khurd on the scales of Virsa Singh Arhatiya. Similarly in village Khunder Utaar there was also a difference in weight.
Significant quantities were also seized at Rao Ke Hithar Procurement Center. Secretary Market Committee Mamdot, who was present on the occasion, was directed to take appropriate action against these arhats and tolas and send a report.
Apart from this the procurement centers at Karhaman, Mamdot, Hazara Singh Wala were also checked for the procurement of wheat. Lifting was plentiful.
The concerned procurement agencies were directed to carry out the lifting immediately so that there would be room for bringing more wheat in the mandis.
