time:matters gives update on Lufthansa capacity

Lufthansa has expanded its bellyhold operations by increasing frequency and destinations of its passenger flights.

In a statement, time-critical logistics business time:matters told is customers: “All [Lufthansa bellyhold destinations] can be utilised for our time-critical transport solutions to/from the following destinations: Bari, Beirut, Belgrade, Dubai, Houston, Menorca, Nairobi, Nanjing Washington DC.”

Earlier this week, Lufthansa Cargo confirmed that it will outsource its Frankfurt general cargo handling to Fiege.

In a statement released yesterday (July 7), Lufthansa Cargo explained: “At the Lufthansa Cargo Center (LCC) in Frankfurt, Fiege Air Cargo Logistics (FACL) will take over the operative handling and co-ordination of inbound and outbound standard shipments in several phases until mid 2021.”

The company also confirmed that the physical cargo handling processes at the LCC had already been “largely outsourced to various external service providers for many years.”
