Jel Sert Co. confirmed Friday that a third employee at its West Chicago factory has tested positive for COVID-19. The worker is at home and receiving care, company officials said in a statement.
The company says it’s taking the appropriate steps recommended by the Center for Disease Control and the DuPage County Health Department. Manufacturing departments at the factory have been closed “to sanitize and deep clean all production and communal areas within production,” the statement reads.
The company plans to reopen operations on Tuesday.
“We are saddened that this pandemic has affected so many, including those who are part of our Jel Sert family,” the statement reads. “We have been working around the clock to take all precautions necessary to keep our team of workers safe and will continue to provide updates and keep everyone informed.”
