Ten factory workers suffer burns – Newspaper

KASUR: Ten workers received burns in the fire that erupted at a shoe factory reportedly due to overheating of a chemical drum at Kot Murad Khan locality on Friday.

The drum exploded and the building caught fire that engulfed the entire structure in a while. The workers got stuck in it.

According to Rescue 1122, the workers in the shoe factory were heating a drum of chemical before using it as adhesive material in the shoes. The drum, according to some workers, caught fire and exploded with a bang.

The injured workers included Abdul Haq, 42, Kashif, 20, Shan, 32, Akram, 30, Abdullah, 28, Zohaib, 16, Aslam, 40, Zubair, 20, Munir, 40, and Abdul Rahim, 55.

The injured workers were shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

The locals and firefighters took about an hour to put out the fire. The B- Division police are looking into the incident.
