Swire Shipping wraps up Westwood takeover deal

Swire Shipping said on Thursday that it has concluded the acquisition of US-based container breakbulk operator Westwood Shipping Lines after winning regulatory approval and completing customary closing conditions.

The takeover deal, which was first announced in late April, is the carrier’s second big foray into the Pacific Northwest this year, coming hot on the heels of launching a new express liner service linking Vietnam directly with the US West Coast.
