Spilios sentenced to 120 months for meth distribution | News, Sports, Jobs

NEWELL — Samuel Anthony Spilios, 39, of Newell, West Virginia, was sentenced to 120 months of incarceration for distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in Hancock county. The announcement came from U.S. attorney William Ihlenfeld in Wheeling.

Spilios pleaded guilty in February to one count of distribution. Spilios admitted to selling more than 50 grams of methamphetamine in December 2020 in Hancock County. The case was prosecuted on behalf of the government by assistant U.S. attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey Presided.

Assistance in the case was provided by Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative; the Drug Enforcement Administration in Youngstown; the Liverpool Township Police Department; the East Liverpool Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Ohio.
