KARACHI: The wheat procurement process will be kept transparent and none of the departments will interfere so that farmers could get their benefit, said Sindh Industries and Commerce and Anti-Corruption Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo.

In a meeting on Wednesday, it was decided that if any officer in the anti-corruption department was found to be involved in any sort of corruption in the procurement of wheat, it would immediately be reported to the department and stern action would be taken against them.

Assuring provincial food minister Hari Ram Kishori Lal of his complete support, Dharejo stated that the anti-corruption department was committed to fighting corruption and added that close communication between departments could help eradicate corruption from Sindh. He further said that a check and balance system is essential for this.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Food Minister Hari Ram Kishori Lal, anti-corruption director Sohail Qureshi, and others.
