Shipping Corporation appoints C.I. Acharya as Finance Director; stock jumps ~1%

Shipping Corporation of India has informed that the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of C.I. Acharya as Director (Finance) on the company’s board.

His appointment shall be effective from June 13, 2022.

C.I. Acharya is a Commerce Graduate from Mumbai University, a Chartered Accountant, a Cost Accountant, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Acharya has cross-functional experience of over three decades in the fields of Finance, International Trade, Taxation, Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, and Corporate Strategy & Commercial.

He brings in over two decades of rich and diversified experience at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Limited (MRPL), a part of the mammoth ONGC group.


Shipping Corporation is currently trading at Rs107.15 up by Rs0.8 or 0.75% from its previous closing of Rs106.35 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs105 and has touched intraday high and low of Rs107.70 and Rs104.95 respectively.
