Sen. Gillibrand comes to LI to pitch bill that would target supply chain issues

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand came to Long Island Monday to propose a bill she believes will get the country’s supply chain back on track.

Under the bill, the secretary of commerce would designate areas as “manufacturing communities.”

They would then be eligible for federal assistance to encourage domestic production.

“We already make great products here in America,” Gillibrand says. “So now we just need to support the companies who do that and the people who make them.”

Gillibrand says the bill would expand the aerospace and defense industry on Long Island.
