School lunch distribution list 3/19/20 – News


School districts throughout Luzerne County are planning to provide lunches to students during the coronavirus shutdown. The list will be updated as information is provided.


 


CRESTWOOD


Bagged lunches will include a breakfast item and are available to all students


When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday


Locations: High school in Wright Twp. and the White Haven Library


 


DALLAS


Families in need of lunch assistance please call 570.675.5201, ext 5298 and follow the prompts.


 


GREATER NANTICOKE AREA


Breakfast and lunches will be available grab and go drive-through style.


When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Where: Apollo Circle in Nanticoke, the GNA High School bus port, the Tilbury Fire hall in Plymouth Twp., the firehouse in the Hanover section of Nanticoke and the American Legion in Glen Lyon.


 


HANOVER AREA


Bagged lunches will include breakfast item and are available to all students


When: 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday


Locations: Entrance to Stoney Ridge Apartments, entrance to Dundee Apartments, entrance to Marion Terrace Apartments, high school back parking lot, Memorial Elementary School parking lot, Lee Park Elementary School playground, Lyndwood Elementary School playground, Hanover Green Elementary playground, Holy Family Church parking lot in Sugar Notch.


 


HAZLETON AREA


When: 11:30 a..m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday


Locations: Maple Manor, Heights-Terrace and Valley.


 


LAKE-LEHMAN


Meal distribution for students in need will begin today. Breakfast and lunch will be available for pickup.


When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday


Where: Drive to the rear of the Junior/Senior High School and follow the signs to the pick-up area.


The service is free of charge to any student in the district. If you don’t have transportation or are physically unable to participate, call 570-255-2705.


 


NORTHWEST AREA


Bagged lunches for all students


When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Locations: Fairmont United Methodist Church, Shickshinny borough building, Northwest Intermediate School, Northwest High School


 


PITTSTON AREA


All caregivers and families may drive-through and pick up meals for their children. Meals will be given to children through age 18 who are present in the vehicle. No congregating at the location is permitted.


When: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Where: High school bus drop located at the rear of the high school, the intermediate center bus drop at the front of the building and the front student drop off at the primary center.


 


WILKES-BARRE AREA


Grab and go lunches will be available throughout the district’s closure.


When: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Locations: Dodson Elementary, Coughlin High School (annex), Flood Elementary, GAR Memorial High School, Heights Elementary, Kistler Elementary, Mackin Elementary and Solomon Elementary.


 


WYOMING AREA


Grab and go lunches available for all students. The district is asking families to provide the names and grades of students when picking up lunches.


When: weekdays from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.


Location: the Secondary Center Cafeteria. Enter through the rear of the building for pick up.


 


WYOMING VALLEY WEST


Bagged lunches are available to any student in the district


When: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Weekdays through March 27


Locations: High school, middle school, State Street Elementary and Dana Street Elementary
