SA business sector ‘committed’ to help with Covid-19 vaccine procurement

Business for South Africa’s Martin Kingston says the business sector is committed to mobilising funds for a Covid-19 vaccine.

“As the Minister (of Health Zweli Mkhize) indicated when he spoke on Sunday, as the country we need to make sure that we are able to mobilise all of the funding required for the vaccine to get us immunity as quickly as possible. Having access to that funding will demonstrate to the manufacturers of the vaccine that we can pay for it.

“We are  looking at ways in which the businesses may be able to come to the party and make financial contributions. There are obviously many other ways in which organised businesses can help to ensure that we can get the vaccine as efficiently and as soon as possible to the county at large,” says Kingston.
