Rs 19,675 crore spent for procurement of Covid-19 vaccine doses – Mysuru Today

Prime News, National, Health, Disease, Vaccine, New Delhi, December 17:- ​The country has incurred expenditure of Rs 19,675 crore for procurement of Covid-19 till December 19, 2021, for free supply of vaccine doses to the States and Union Territories.

Replying to a written question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pawar said that till December 15, various private hospitals across the country have procured over four crore 62 lakh doses of Covishield and Covaxin vaccines. Similarly, 10.72 lakh Sputnik V vaccines were also procured till December 15.

However, the minister informed that over 62.58 lakh vaccine doses were wasted, with nearly half of wastage reported from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. (Inputs: Agencies, NGB)
