Alessio Rovera has become the newest Ferrari factory driver, having been confirmed Friday during the manufacturer’s Finali Mondiali at Mugello.

The 26-year-old Italian, who won this year’s GTE-Am title in the FIA World Endurance Championship including class honors at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, enjoyed a standout season in GT competition that also included class wins in the European Le Mans Series and participation in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup powered by AWS.

Having started out in the single-seater ranks, Rovera switched to sports car racing in 2017, winning the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia title prior to becoming Italian GT Sprint champion two years later and then winning the Italian GT Endurance championship in 2020.

In addition to his expected continued GT driving duties, Rovera will make his LMP2 debut next year as part of AF Corse’s dual WEC/ELMS program involving Francois Perrodo.
