Rory O’Connor of Wexford-based Scurri is Brexit’s smooth operator in chief | Ireland

Rory O’Connor recalls the moment he first laid eyes on the early Mac computers as a student at Waterford IT. Hefty by comparison with today’s models, the devices had a user-friendly interface with “a trash can you could drop things into, and icons” — a cause for excitement back in the day.

“There was a pivotal moment, I think, when people were looking at computers and going, ‘It’s not all about binary code and writing code — [technology] can be for everybody,’” he says.

In the weeks after the Brexit transition period ended and the UK left the EU’s single market and customs union, O’Connor has witnessed how technological advancements have helped keep his Wexford-based delivery management software company Scurri on the road.
