Office of Technology Management

What is it?

The Office of Technology Management (OTM) assists Washington University in St. Louis faculty in the transfer of technology from the lab to the global marketplace.

Located in the Cortex Innovation District of St. Louis, the Office of Technology Management manages intellectual properties arising from research programs, and acts as a resource for faculty in the areas of patent prosecution, material transfer agreements, market feedback and licensing.

Through the OTM, faculty and researchers can disclose their inventions and transfer their materials to other institutions or companies. It’s also possible to license WashU-managed technology and innovation, with available technologies varying by industry.

Who is it for?

WashU faculty members and staff who have an innovation or technology to take to market. There are also partnerships and training opportunities available through the BALSA Group and BioEntrepreneurship Core
