One of the largest fireworks wholesalers in Nebraska has seen sales skyrocket during the 4th of July selling season.

Wild Willy’s Fireworks has 60 locations across Nebraska and Iowa, and sells wholesale fireworks all across the country.

Owner Dan Williams said they’ve seen a 200-400 percent increase at each location and believes the increases are because many larger firework shows have been canceled this year because of COVID-19.

“Fireworks are something you can do in your backyard while still doing social distancing,” Williams said. “I think people are just wanting to get out and get outside and spend some family time together.”

Williams said people still want to see and shoot fireworks even though many of the shows have been canceled.
