Record-breaking year for Cardinal

Kelly Hobson

Manchester-headquartered freight forwarder Cardinal Global Logistics has posted another “record-breaking” year.

The company reported a year-on-year growth of 320 per cent across the group to reach a turnover of £460m.

It said its ongoing success can be attributed to multiple factors that include the introduction of a dedicated bureau services team, an increased owned office network across Asia, major investment in innovative technology and ongoing M&A activity.

Cardinal has also confirmed that Kelly Hobson has been appointed chief marketing and sustainability officer from 1 July 2022. Hobson will be responsible for the overall creation and implementation of a global marketing and sustainability strategy.

Kelly Hobson said: “Cardinal Global Logistics is a fantastic success story to date. Originally founded by three ambitious professionals, over the last 25 years by remaining purpose driven, the business has continued to thrive. Core values that have always placed the ‘Cardinal family’ at the heart of the business continue to drive an environment that ignites customer obsession and innovative thinking.

“Positive impact has become more than just a buzz word for many companies operating within the logistics industry and I am delighted to be joining a company that already has established initiatives within this space and a board that is supportive in doing more. I have no doubt my new role will be incredibly rewarding and I’m looking forward to creating more awareness around the extensive services Cardinal offer.”

Chief executive Brian Hay said: “The last few years has seen a wave of accomplishments for Cardinal Global Logistics. Our prowess within the sector is underpinned by a formidable team and I’m incredibly proud of the dedication each and every one of my colleagues continues to show in supporting our customers.

“As we edge towards 2023 it felt like the right time to bring onboard a new skillset to help us continue on our journey of transformation. Kelly is well known within our industry as a successful marketer and is recognised for her passion in delivering effective sustainability initiatives. Bringing Kelly into the Cardinal team felt like the perfect fit as we move into a new and exciting chapter.

He added: “Myself and the rest of the Cardinal leadership team are looking forward to working with Kelly and I have no doubt she will be a huge asset over the coming years.”
