Rajasthan Health Minister orders investigation into procurement of Chinese equipment at the JK Lon child hospital – New Delhi Times

After the deaths
of more than 100 infants within around a month at the JK Lon child
hospital in Kota, Rajasthan, the Health Minister of the state, Raghu Sharma has
ordered an investigation into the matter of using the Chinese-made equipment at
the hospital.

The additional
Chief Secretary – medical and health, Rohit Kumar Singh has been directed
by the Health Minister Mr. Sharma to conduct the inquiry and submit a report.

The multipara
monitor that is used for measuring vital parameters like blood pressure, heart
rate and respiratory rate, is the equipment in question. The procurement of the
equipment was made through a medical college and the probe is being made
to ascertain when it was bought and what was the quality of the product.
